Our History

imagejpeg_0.jpg

Christ Revival Church was founded in 1957 by Elder Lester Ball at 69th and State Street on the

great South Side of Chicago.  Elder Bell, along with his assistant, Elder John Williams, worked

together to build the ministry and fulfill their spirit led mission to "save the lost at any cost." In 1961, Elder Bell was lead to pioneer another ministry leaving Elder Williams and his wife, Evangelist Euneda Williams to carry on the work at Christ Revival. They relocated the church to 69th and Indiana Avenue where their famous outreach ministry began. God later blessed the Christ Revival family to purchase the sanctuary at 8429 South Racine, where the ministry grew exponentially. In 1980, Elder Williams passed, and the torch was handed to his wife, Euneda.  Pastor Euneda Williams continued the outreach ministry striving to continue to fulfill the Christ Revival mission to "save the lost at any cost." As the ministry continued to grow, Pastor Williams sought the assistance of Elder Robert Holmes, Sr. In 1985, Chicago native, Elder Holmes moved his family back to Chicago to help further the vision and mission of Christ Revival Church.

As Pastor Williams and Elder Holmes worked together, the ministry continued to flourish, and they expanded their building by adding a dining hall to fellowship on Sunday and provide a place where anyone could get a hot meal.  After 29 years of dedicated service, Pastor Euneda Williams was called from labor to reward, and the torch was passed to Elder Robert Holmes Sr.  He continued the mission of Christ Revival's founders to "save the lost at any cost" and implemented Christ Revival's annual May Conference, which brings world renown speakers and gospel artists to Chicago every year.  In June of 2018,  after the untimely passing of Pastor Robert Holmes, SR., the torch was again passed to Kimberly E. Holmes.  Pastor Kim is on a mission, employing the tactics of past leadership to bridge the gap between different cultures and communities worldwide.
